There are plenty of New Year’s resolutions you can make, but few are as exciting as the ones that involve cars. Whether you want to buy a new car, fix up an old one, or record your best lap time yet, we want to know your car-related goals for the new year.

Perhaps 2016 is the right year to take a performance driving course or finally make that cross-country road trip happen. Of course, you can always go the practical route and resolve to take your car in for servicing on time. Sometimes, it’s all about the baby steps.

An informal poll revealed a good mix of practical and fun New Year’s resolutions among our MT staffers. One editor wants to spend more time on the track, particularly in our long-term MX-5 Miata, and another wants to completely overhaul the brake system on his old car. Yet another editor wants to make his car “project car” status and head to the Formula D drift race in Long Beach this coming year.
